Aletter to the women of the world

Educate your women, then the world will prosper

Hi,
I don't need an introduction, it can be anyone. Whatever am gonna say can be from any one of you out there. It is just that am free at this moment to write and you are busy with life.
What prompted me to write this. An article on Manipur in one of the regional weekly . As we all know Manipur is in the grips of terrorism/ or Naxalism. (What ever be the name  killing innocent people on any "-ism" is not commendable. ) The story by M.Suchitra talks about the women in Manipur and their struggles to put an end to the gory episodes of their life. From that article what it looks like Manipuri  men are either Underground , or  hunted down by the army. This leaves the women to fight the battle of life alone. They with their grit and gut fights out against all odds. They go beyond any known methods of resistance, their aim is build  to a place worthy for their kids, where they can play, dream and grow big like any kid in the world. Their fight is for the life itself.

Having said that I think this is the best time for women to live. We are gone far from just being liberated. Now we are free, financially independent, have our voice heard... I do agree this is not the final destination. There is still a long way to go. We have to spread out this freedom around the world. Every women has the right to enjoy what a few enjoy now.
I do believe women are the wheel of the society around which it turns. They are courageous, strong, has an  inborn intelligence and can even  fight battles alone when pushed to the end.The women of Manipur are the example before me. In olden days, in the time of joint family, people thoroughly studied the women before they entered any house hold. Why ? because they felt that the fate of their house and their country depended entirely on women.

After reading the article i felt if we all the women in the world could come out and fight their battles with the help of each other how different our world will be? Let me go back to the article on Manipur ( Oh God! how much it had roused my spirit!).In Manipur there is a women's group called Meyra Peibi ( torch bearers) who fights against the terrorists and the army at the same time. If we have some thing similar in Jammu and Kashmir? In Assam? In Varangal? In Iraq? In Somalia? The whole world needs something like this.
Why we don't have a similar kind of group in other places/ Are we not pushed to our limit? Why are we not fighting/ Whom are we waiting for? I can tell you one thing, our fight is our alone, don't ever expect others to come and do it for us. We have to start and we have to lead it. No, want of education can't be a deterrent, we just need grit and determination. We do have it in abundance. May be we are like the volcano, waiting for a fire to explode.Yes, explode we should, the early , the best. So, my friends think of the atrocities against you, let it burn in your heart till it becomes a fire to burn the evil in this society. Come, join hands let us all be the torch bearers and in our light let our next generation bloom.

Waiting for the fire
Love
....
